Tachina Walker

As the daughter of Dr. Arelious Walker, Pastor of the True Hope Church Ministries in San Francisco, I was raised in a community-centered environment where I learned the profound importance of serving others. Through my various leadership roles within True Hope Church Ministries, I’ve developed a deep commitment to uplifting those in need, especially disadvantaged children who face unique challenges. One specific area I’m dedicated to is providing shoes for children with larger-sized feet (sizes 11 and above).

I chose this mission because access to properly fitting footwear is more than a necessity; it’s essential to a child’s health, comfort, and social inclusion. Many children struggle to find shoes that fit, which can result in physical discomfort, health complications, and even social isolation. By addressing this often-overlooked need, I aim to empower these children, helping them feel confident, supported, and accepted within their communities.

My leadership philosophy centers on empathy and service. I believe that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive without the burden of limited resources. Offering well-fitting shoes is a tangible expression of my dedication to fostering a sense of dignity and belonging among these young individuals. Shoes have always been a personal form of self-expression for me, and I’ve learned to take pride in that individuality.

Looking ahead, I envision a world where every child can take confident, hopeful steps, opening doors to brighter futures. Through this initiative, I aim to positively impact these children’s lives and our broader community, reinforcing the values of compassion and support that are at the heart of servant leadership.
